Stomach flu sucks!

Elise started us off on Thursday, then Natalie on Friday night and Cameron, Camille, Max and myself on Sunday. All day yesterday Cameron would fall asleep wherever he was, only to wake up long enough to cry and change locations before falling asleep again. He was so miserable.

Cam wasn't the only pathetic one yesterday. Max and Camille would carry their blankets and a bucket around and just crash wherever they happened to run out of energy. At one point, Brett said to Max "You need to get up off the floor. I'm tired of stepping over bodies wherever I go." Classic line.

We're mostly better today. Cameron had one incident on my bed this morning while trying to wake me up. Nothing like a little regurgitation to get you out of bed quick in the morning! Like I needed another reason to hate the smell of goldfish crackers.

Vandy's Wedding

This post is for my sisters, who weren't able to attend our niece Vandy's wedding. Vandy is the first grandchild to get married. So, I thought I'd post some pictures to make them feel a bit more like they were there. This one's for you, Gayla and Kari!

Vandy and Tyrel had a wonderful sealing with the exception of her brother Lyle and his fiance getting a flat tire and missing the ceremony. Their sealer had some wonderful doctrinal things to remind them of that went much deeper than what you sometimes hear.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Murri

We were really impressed with Tyrel and his family. He obviously loves Vandy very much. He is a great guy with a warm smile and an obvious sense of humor. The Murri's were about as warm and welcoming as you can imagine. We had hugs and kisses from aunts and uncles and grandparents, etc. Tyrel's parents were especially kind.

Vandy looks different after her jaw surgery. She was pretty before, but is even more beautiful now. I was surprised at how different she looked. She told me that it is still a little weird to look in the mirror even now because her face doesn't look the same.

Max (and Camille and Elise) proved to be very good kitchen help

The wedding cake was damaged in transit from Wyoming, but Mom was able to repair (hide!) the damage with lots of frosting.

The Borders side of the family

Joel made this clock for Vandy and Tyrel

The 'ceiling' was white sheer fabric with twinkle lights and varying sizes of paper lanterns in the center. The pictures don't capture how pretty the lighting was. It was subtle and very nice. The backdrop was also lit from behind and had Japanese paper umbrellas on either side.

The eadible centerpieces were a huge hit with my kids.

We were so glad we went. It was a privelege to be able to share this important occassion and to let our kids see an example of how to be married to the right person, in the right place at the right time.
