Vandy's Wedding

This post is for my sisters, who weren't able to attend our niece Vandy's wedding. Vandy is the first grandchild to get married. So, I thought I'd post some pictures to make them feel a bit more like they were there. This one's for you, Gayla and Kari!

Vandy and Tyrel had a wonderful sealing with the exception of her brother Lyle and his fiance getting a flat tire and missing the ceremony. Their sealer had some wonderful doctrinal things to remind them of that went much deeper than what you sometimes hear.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Murri

We were really impressed with Tyrel and his family. He obviously loves Vandy very much. He is a great guy with a warm smile and an obvious sense of humor. The Murri's were about as warm and welcoming as you can imagine. We had hugs and kisses from aunts and uncles and grandparents, etc. Tyrel's parents were especially kind.

Vandy looks different after her jaw surgery. She was pretty before, but is even more beautiful now. I was surprised at how different she looked. She told me that it is still a little weird to look in the mirror even now because her face doesn't look the same.

The wedding cake was damaged in transit from Wyoming, but Mom was able to repair (hide!) the damage with lots of frosting.

The 'ceiling' was white sheer fabric with twinkle lights and varying sizes of paper lanterns in the center. The pictures don't capture how pretty the lighting was. It was subtle and very nice. The backdrop was also lit from behind and had Japanese paper umbrellas on either side.

The eadible centerpieces were a huge hit with my kids.

We were so glad we went. It was a privelege to be able to share this important occassion and to let our kids see an example of how to be married to the right person, in the right place at the right time.
